The Miro from Citizens of Humanity in a clean dark indigo rinse, offering a refined take on the barrel silhouette, sitting high at the waist with a relaxed shape that softly tapers to the ankle, in rigid non-stretch denim with an authentic vintage feel, listed at 320 GBP with all eight sizes in stock and a model reference of five foot ten wearing a size 27. It is worth beginning with the two things the page says about where the jean sits, because they do not agree with each other and this run can settle which is right. The description says sitting high at the waist. The bullets say mid rise. It is worth then working out what the numbers say, because the page publishes no rise at all, which is now three trousers out of four in this run. It is worth then doing the arithmetic, which is available: the total length runs 94 to 97 centimetres and the inseam runs 68 to 69, so the rise plus the waistband runs 26, 26, 27, 27, 27, 27, 28 and 28. It is worth then setting that against the band this run established two batches ago, which puts mid rise at 25 to 29 centimetres and high rise above 30. It is worth then stating the result, which is that the numbers say mid, and the description says high, and the bullet says mid, and so the description is the one that is wrong. It is worth then turning to the inseam, because it is where this garment is most unusual. It is worth then reading it, which is 68 on the first four sizes and 69 on the last four. It is worth then saying what that is, which is not a grade at all but two fixed inseams, one for each half of the range. It is worth then noting that this run has now seen three answers to the same question from three eight-size trousers, and none of them graded the inseam. It is worth then turning to the waist, because that is the plainest failure. It is worth then doubling it, giving 28.35 to 33.86 inches against labels of 24 to 31, and stating what that is, which is three to four inches above the label on every size. It is worth then saying why stretch cannot explain it, which matters: the denim is rigid and non-stretch, so those inches are room, not give. It is worth then closing on the fibre claim, because it is the third kind this run has met. It is worth then stating it, which is one hundred per cent regenerative cotton, and then saying what is absent, which is a standard. It is worth then saying why that absence bites harder here than elsewhere, which is that organic has a standard this run can name and recycled has one, and regenerative has no single equivalent, so there is nothing to check it against. The reference is the Miro. Dongguan Bafinasa Garments Co., Ltd. develops comparable denim on OEM and ODM terms, from fabric and wash development to retail or FBA ready packing. We publish this as a development reference and build your own version of it, and we do not supply the branded original or reproduce anyone else's label.

The waist figures are given with nothing on the page saying whether they are measured flat or all the way round. Taken all the way round they would be 14.2 to 16.9 in, which is smaller than any adult waist, so they can only be flat half measures, doubling to 72 to 86 cm, or about 28.35 to 33.86 in. Set against the size number, which in denim sizing is the waist in inches, every size measures roughly 3 to 4 in more than its label, and the excess shrinks from 4.35 in at a 24 to 2.86 in at a 31, so the label and the garment converge at the top of the range and diverge most at the bottom. The denim is rigid and non-stretch, so those inches are room and not give. No rise is published, but the total length less the inseam gives 26 to 28 cm, which is a mid rise. The inseam is 68 cm on the first four sizes and 69 cm on the last four, so it steps once in the middle and does not grade. No hip, no thigh, no knee and no leg opening are published. Our proposal below publishes the front and back rise, grades the inseam, and measures the leg at the thigh, the knee and the hem.

Occasions and Styling
Suits everyday and weekend wear. A rigid barrel leg jean with a mid rise works with crisp shirting or a relaxed knit, and the dark rinse keeps it wearable through autumn and winter.
Production and Quality Control
The reference publishes three measurements across eight sizes, grades the waist perfectly evenly at 1 cm on every step, names a model with her height and the size she wears, states its fibre, states that its denim is rigid and non-stretch, gives a two clause care label, and names its leg shape, rise, fit and fly. It gives no rise, no cloth weight, no certification for a regenerative claim, no hip, no thigh, no knee, no leg opening, no zip length, no shrinkage figure, no bleach or iron instruction and no dye standard, its inseam steps once in the middle instead of grading, and its waist measures three to four inches above its label while the page says twice that the fit is true to size. Three things follow: a page that says high in one place and mid in another with the numbers settling it, a third answer to the inseam question, and a fibre claim with nothing to check it against.
Twenty six, and that is the first thing, and it is worth saying what the page says before saying what it measures, because the two do not agree. The description says the jean sits high at the waist. The bullets say mid rise. It is worth then noting that no rise is published anywhere, which is now three of the four trousers this run has read, and then saying what can still be done: the total length and the inseam are both given, so the rise plus the waistband can be derived. It is worth then doing it, which gives 26, 26, 27, 27, 27, 27, 28 and 28 centimetres. It is worth then setting that against the band this run established two batches ago, which puts mid rise at 25 to 29 centimetres and high rise above 30. It is worth then stating the result without hedging: the derived rise is mid, the bullet says mid, and the description says high, so the description is the one that is wrong. It is worth then making the comparison that gives this weight, because it is exact. It is worth then recalling the other jean in this run, which claimed to sit low on the hips and derived a rise of about 29 centimetres. It is worth then stating the two together: the jean that says low derives at 29, and the jean that says mid derives at 26 to 28. It is worth then saying what that means, which is that the one claiming to sit lower, sits higher. It is worth then turning to the inseam, because it is the most unusual thing on the page. It is worth then reading it, which is 68 on sizes 24 through 27 and 69 on sizes 28 through 31. It is worth then saying what that is not, which is a grade: it is two fixed inseams, one for each half of the range, with a single step between them. It is worth then noting how many answers this run now has to the same question, which is three eight-size trousers and three different behaviours, one frozen at 69, one frozen at 77, and this one stepping once in the middle, and not one of them grading the inseam.
Three to four, and that is the second thing, and it is worth saying what those inches are before saying why they matter. It is worth then doubling the waist, which is 36 to 43 centimetres flat, giving 28.35 to 33.86 inches around. It is worth then setting that against the size labels, which in denim sizing are the waist in inches and run 24 to 31. It is worth then stating the difference, which is that every size measures about three to four inches more than the number on its label. It is worth then saying why that cannot be explained away here, and this is the point: the page states that the denim is rigid and non-stretch. It is worth then recalling where the opposite was true, which was a stretch rib tee two batches ago carrying 2 per cent elastane and the word slim, where a garment measuring under the body was the design. It is worth then stating the contrast, which is that here there is no elastane to do the work, so those three to four inches are room, and three to four inches of room at a waistband is a great deal. It is worth then noting the shape of it, which is that the excess shrinks as the sizes go up, from 4.35 inches at a 24 to 2.86 at a 31, so the label is furthest from the truth at the smallest size. It is worth then turning to the fit word, because it is stated twice, once in the bullets and once above the chart, and then giving the score: this run has now tested true to size five times, and five times the garment's own numbers have failed to match its own label. It is worth then closing on the fibre, because it is the third kind of claim this run has met. It is worth then stating it, which is one hundred per cent regenerative cotton, and then saying what is missing, which is a standard. It is worth then saying why that bites harder here than it did elsewhere, which is that when this run met organic with no standard it could at least name the standard that was missing, and when it met recycled with no standard it could name that one too, but regenerative has no single equivalent, so there is nothing to check the claim against at all.
Optional upgrades include publishing the front and back rise and correcting the description so it does not say high where the numbers say mid, grading the inseam across the size set, reconciling the waist measurement with the size label so true to size can be tested, publishing the cloth weight in ounces and in grams per square metre, the hip, the thigh, the knee and the leg opening with the unit named, naming the standard behind the regenerative cotton claim, publishing the shrinkage figure after wash and the dye fastness, adding bleach and iron instructions, comfort stretch, organic, recycled and regenerative cotton denims with the standard named, high and low rises, straight, wide, bootcut and slim taper legs, raw, stone and black washes, size set, colour development, private label, hangtag and care labelling.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
