Producing it without a licence is infringement, and the practical outcome is a seized shipment and a claim rather than a remake. So before anything else: we need proof of the licence or written authorisation from the rights holder, and we ask for it before we sample.
Where that is in place, the garment is a crew sweatshirt carrying a team mark, and the print or embroidery is the product. Team logos come with strict colour and placement standards, which is a help rather than a hindrance: it means the reference is unambiguous, and it means we can be exact rather than approximate. Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
The licence is the first and there is no substitute. Team names, logos and league marks are licensed, and producing them without paperwork risks seizure and a claim against both of us. Where it cannot be shown, the honest alternative is the same garment with your own mark, which we can develop and which leaves you in a stronger position.
The mark is the second and it is what the customer is buying. Embroidery on fleece needs the right backing or it puckers and eventually breaks away as the fabric moves, and print needs the right method and cure or it cracks. Team merch is worn and washed hard, which makes both worse. We choose the method for the cloth, control the cure, and test wash fastness and stretch rather than judging by eye, and we approve colours against the official reference rather than a screen.
Placement and consistency are the third. A mark placed at a fixed distance from the neck sits in a different place on every size, so we scale it by size and check on the body. Fans buy more than one and compare them, and team merch sells across seasons, so shade, hand and weight have to hold between runs and we keep references from the approved run.
