This is a printed dress that is engineered rather than simply draped, and that is why it holds its shape in a photograph and on a body. The bodice is boned, so the top stays where it is put without squeezing; the straps are adjustable, so one size covers a range of heights and torsos; the skirt is built in pleated tiers, which gives volume without the weight of a full gathered skirt; and the cloth is polyester chiffon with a cotton lining, so the pleats hold and the part that touches the skin is natural. The reference is the Pleated Tiered Midi Dress by Zimmermann in a cream bird print at nine hundred and ninety five dollars. Dongguan Bafinasa Garments Co., Ltd. develops comparable pleated chiffon dresses on OEM and ODM terms, from print and pleat development through boning specification to retail or FBA ready packing. We publish this as a development reference and build your own version of it, and we do not supply the branded original or reproduce anyone else's label.

Only the first row comes from the reference, and it is the only size the retailer measured: size 1/S at bust 30 in, waist 26 in, hips 34 in and length 48 in. Read as a slim fitted bodice those numbers make sense, and they are coherent in a way some listings on the same site are not, but we still would not copy them into your chart without a sample in hand, because one row tells you nothing about how the block grades. The length is the number worth thinking about. Forty eight inches was measured on a model who is five foot eleven and a half, which means this dress is cut tall, and on an average height customer it will land closer to a long midi or a short maxi rather than the midi the name suggests. If your market is not tall, say so and we will set the length to your customer instead of to the photograph. The practical consequence of the boned bodice and adjustable straps is that the bodice is the tolerance mechanism here, so the fit is decided at the top of the dress rather than at the hip, and we would build the bodice and the strap adjustment together rather than separately.
Occasions and Styling
Suits weddings as a guest, garden parties, race days, resort evenings, holidays and summer events. It wants a heel and very little jewellery because the print is doing the work, it packs well for travel because the pleats and the polyester both forgive a suitcase, and it can be worn with a light wrap when the evening cools.
Production and Quality Control
This listing has no customer reviews at all, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to learn from. We say that plainly rather than borrowing a number from a similar dress. What the listing does give is unusually precise about construction, boned bodice, partial lining, pleated tiers and adjustable straps, so we plan the risks from the structure.
The boned bodice is the first place this dress succeeds or fails. Boning has to be specified, not assumed: the type, the count, the channels it sits in, and how the ends are capped so they cannot work through the cloth. Cheap boning buckles, and a buckled bone eventually presses and then pokes, which is a complaint the customer can describe but not diagnose. We specify the boning, test the bodice on movement rather than only standing, and check it after cleaning, because a bone that survives the fitting room and fails the first clean is a common fault.
The pleats come next, and they are the reason the dress looks expensive. Heat set pleats have to survive cleaning, steam and packing; weak pleating falls out first at the hem and then everywhere, which turns a structured dress into a limp one. We test pleat retention after the care cycle and after folding rather than only on the finished sample, and we check that the pleats run consistently around the garment and line up across the tier seams, because misalignment at a tier join is the detail a customer notices without being able to name it.
Chiffon brings its own list. It snags, its seams can slip under strain, and on a cream ground it can be more transparent than a swatch on a table suggests. So we check opacity on the actual colourway and in daylight rather than assuming, finish the seams properly so nothing raw shows through a pale cloth, and test seam strength. Tier joins carry the weight of everything below them, so those seams get checked, the tiers have to hang level, the gathers have to be distributed rather than bunched at the joins, and the hem has to be checked on a stand and then again after cleaning, since chiffon tiers can twist once they have been wet.
Adjustable straps look like a small thing and behave like a big one. A slider that does not hold means the dress slowly slides down, and the customer reads that as the dress not fitting rather than as a hardware failure. We test that the adjustment stays where it is put, that the attachment is strong enough for the weight of the skirt, and that the hardware finish is appropriate and nickel free where required. Finally, the reference says dry clean only, and polyester chiffon can often be washed, which would be a genuine selling advantage for a holiday dress. We test rather than copy the label, and we check print registration, batch to batch shade consistency, and where the motifs land on the garment.
Optional upgrades include GRS certified recycled polyester chiffon with documentation, a defined composition and weight with testing reports, heat set pleating tested to a stated care cycle, engineered placement prints aligned across tiers, alternative boning and strap systems, silk or specialty cloths, full lining or a detachable slip, pockets in the tier seams, alternative lengths, extended sizing and private label, hangtag and care labelling.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
