Relaxed Fit Graphic Tee in Anti Pilling Organic Cotton Single Jersey with a Crew Neck and Clean Hems

The Horses Tee from The Tiny Big Sister in off white, made from a soft anti pilling single jersey cotton with a pair of vintage style horse graphics and a relaxed fit, listed at 56 GBP with all five sizes in stock. It is the cheapest garment in this batch and it is the only one of the three that a customer can actually place on a body, and that is worth setting out because the comparison is unflattering to the expensive ones. This page gives the model's height, 173 centimetres, and the size she wears, a 36, and it publishes the measurements for every size. So a customer can work out how long this tee will be on her and how much room it will have. The 410 GBP dress and the 385 GBP skirt published in the same batch give no model at all, and both of their charts have a size that does not fit. Completeness does not track price, and this run has now said so often enough that it would rather demonstrate it than repeat it. The other thing worth setting out is that this page makes two claims that most pages do not bother making, and makes both of them without the backing that would make them mean anything. It says the cloth is anti pilling, which is a tested property with a standard behind it and no test is named. And it says the cotton is organic, which in most markets is a regulated claim that requires a certifier to be named, and no certifier is named. The reference is the Horses Tee in Off White. Dongguan Bafinasa Garments Co., Ltd. develops comparable jersey tees on OEM and ODM terms, from certified organic yarn sourcing by weight and gauge to retail or FBA ready packing. We publish this as a development reference and build your own version of it, and we do not supply the branded original or reproduce anyone else's label.

Occasions and Styling

Suits spring and summer and casual dressing. A relaxed white tee with a graphic is the piece that makes an ordinary outfit look considered, and the organic jersey makes it the kind of tee worn on its own.

Production and Quality Control

The reference publishes three columns for all five sizes, gives a size conversion for every size, gives a model height and the size worn, states the fibre, states the knit structure, states an anti pilling finish, names the neck, the hems and the graphic, gives a fit word, gives a two clause care instruction and names the country of production. It gives no cloth weight, no gauge, no pilling test, no organic certifier, no shrinkage figure, no colourfastness, no neck dimensions, no print method or dimensions and no model beyond the height, and carries one photograph. Three things follow: the two claims made without backing, the one garment in this run that can be placed on a body, and the sleeve that does not grow.

Anti pilling, and organic, and neither one is backed, and that is the first thing, and it is worth setting out because this page is unusual in making claims at all. Most pages in this run claim nothing that could be checked. This one makes two, and both are real claims with standards behind them, and neither has the standard attached. The first is anti pilling. Pilling is a measured property. It is tested by rubbing a fabric against itself under set conditions and grading the result on a scale, usually one to five, and there are named methods for doing it. So anti pilling is not a mood, it is a test result, and what would make the claim mean something is the method and the grade: tested to such and such a method, grade four after such and such a rub count. None of that is here. This run has been asking for pilling information on knitwear for many batches, most recently on two cashmere garments where pilling is decided by the fibre length and where nothing was said. Here a garment finally says something about pilling, and what it says cannot be checked. The second claim is the bigger one. The composition panel reads 100% organic cotton. Organic is not a descriptive word in most markets, it is a regulated claim. It requires certification, it requires a certifier, and the label normally has to carry that certifier's number. And no certifier is named anywhere on this page. Not GOTS, not the organic content standard, not any scheme at all. So the one claim on this page that a regulator would take an interest in is the one claim with nothing behind it. It is worth putting this in the run's wider context, because the run has met unverified fibre claims repeatedly: cashmere with no standard named when two exist, denim with no standard named when several exist, leather with no tannery and no origin. But those are voluntary schemes and a brand can ignore them without breaking anything. Organic is different, and that is why this is the strongest single omission of its kind in this run. It is worth adding what else is missing from the cloth, because the structure is at least given. Single jersey is stated, which is a real construction specification and more than most pages manage, but there is no weight in grams per square metre and no gauge, and single jersey cotton shrinks, and there is no shrinkage figure. On a tee whose fit word is relaxed, what it does after the first wash decides whether relaxed is still true afterwards. Nothing says.

One hundred and seventy three centimetres, wearing a thirty six, and that is the second thing, and it is worth setting out because this is the only garment in this entire run where a customer can do the arithmetic and see the garment on herself. The page gives the model's height and it gives the size she is wearing, and it publishes the measurements for every size. So a customer who knows her own height and her own bust can work out both where the hem will fall and how much room there will be. Take the model: 173 centimetres, a size 36, and the tee is 59 centimetres long in that size, so it covers about a third of her height and will sit around the high hip. Her bust is 33 inches and the tee is 100 centimetres around, or 39.37 inches, so she has about 6.37 inches of room. None of that is guesswork. Now set that beside the two garments published alongside this one, both from the same shop and both far more expensive. The dress at 410 GBP gives no model and its top size measures smaller than the body it is labelled for. The skirt at 385 GBP gives no model, is the same length at all three sizes, and its top size also measures smaller than the body. So the cheapest garment in the batch, at 56 GBP, is the only one a customer can picture herself in, and the two expensive ones are the ones whose charts fail. This run has been saying for many batches that completeness does not follow price, and it would rather show it than keep asserting it, because here it is in three items on one page of one shop. It is worth adding what the ease does, because it qualifies the fit word. The run calculates about 6.80, 6.37, 6.73, 5.52 and 4.31 inches across the five sizes. On the scale this run has built by measuring garment after garment, about 6.8 inches is a regular fit, not a relaxed one, and about 4.3 inches is closer to slim. So relaxed is accurate at the small end of this range and is not accurate at the top, where the tee has about two and a half inches less room than it had at the bottom. One word, and the fit it describes changes by more than two inches from one end of the range to the other. And this run has now met this number before: another brand's tee, called loose rather than relaxed, measured about 6.8 inches too. Two brands, two different words, the same number, which is the clearest evidence yet that these words are not comparable between houses.

Twenty five, five times over, and that is the third thing. The sleeve is 25 centimetres at every single size. Thirty four through forty two, five sizes, one number. This run has met frozen dimensions before and has said each time that a figure repeated across sizes is a fact about the pattern and not a copying slip, and five sizes at exactly 25 settles it beyond doubt. So the sleeve does not grow at all. And the chest, over the same five sizes, goes from 96 to 110 centimetres, which is 14 centimetres, or about five and a half inches. So the body of the tee grows by five and a half inches and the sleeve does not grow by anything. The consequence is that the sleeve is a different proportion of the garment at every size: it is a fuller sleeve on the smallest and a much shorter one on the largest, and on a relaxed tee that is the difference between a sleeve that skims the arm and one that caps it. It is worth saying that this column technically passes the run's test, because a grade of zero is a uniform grade. That is not a pass worth crediting. It is worth adding what the other two columns do, because the three behave differently and that is the interesting part. The length reads 58, 59, 60, 61 and 62, a clean one centimetre per size, and that column genuinely passes. The chest reads 48, 50, 53, 54 and 55, stepping 2, 3, 1 and 1, and no uniform grade rounds to it. So one column is clean, one is frozen, one is irregular, and the page presents all three identically. It is worth closing on the graphic, which is what this garment actually is. A pair of red vintage style horse graphics with a cross stitch effect, and there is no print method, no dimensions and no position. Cross stitch effect implies a print imitating embroidery rather than actual embroidery, but the page does not say which it is, and the two are very different in cost and in how they wear. And there is nothing about colourfastness, on a red print sitting on a white ground, which is the single most common complaint about exactly this kind of tee and the reason people wash them inside out and separately. The care label says machine wash at thirty and do not tumble dry, and that is all: no cycle, no detergent, no ironing, no shrinkage, and nothing about washing inside out or with like colours. And there is one photograph. One. For a garment whose entire purpose is a graphic, and there are two of them, and nobody photographed the back. Every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.

Optional upgrades include quoting the cloth weight in grams per square metre and the gauge, naming the pilling test method and the grade achieved, naming the organic certifier and carrying the certification number, giving the shrinkage figure after washing, giving the colourfastness grade for the print, giving the print method, the dimensions and the position and saying whether it is a print or an embroidery, grading the sleeve across every size, holding the ease steady across the range and publishing it at every size, giving the neck width, depth and trim specification and the hem depth, adding wash inside out, wash with like colours, detergent and ironing to the care label, photographing the graphic in detail and photographing the back, a heavier jersey and a combed cotton jersey and a slub jersey, conventional cotton and certified organic options, screen print and embroidery options, regular and oversized fit options, a longer and a capped sleeve, size set, colour development, private label, hangtag and care labelling.

Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
