A light blue and white striped shirt from Skall Studio in organic cotton poplin, cut oversized on a menswear block with a regular collar, a chest pocket, buttoned cuffs and a wide pleat at the back yoke, listed at 165 GBP with all four sizes in stock. It publishes pit to pit, sleeve and total length for every size, which makes it directly comparable with the Cilla shirt from the same brand, and that comparison is more instructive than either page read alone: same maker, same size scale, same three column table, and two completely different garments sitting inside it. This one carries eighteen inches of ease and runs ten centimetres longer in the body. The reference is the Edgar Shirt Oxford in Light Blue and White Stripe. Dongguan Bafinasa Garments Co., Ltd. develops comparable shirting on OEM and ODM terms, from cloth selection and stripe artwork to retail or FBA ready packing. We publish this as a development reference and build your own version of it, and we do not supply the branded original or reproduce anyone else's label.

Size Chart as Published by the Reference
| Size | Chest (pit to pit, flat) | Sleeve Length | Total Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| 34 / XS | 62 cm | 80.25 cm | 77 cm |
| 36 / S | 64 cm | 82 cm | 78 cm |
| 38 / M | 66 cm | 83.75 cm | 79 cm |
| 40 / L | 68 cm | 85.5 cm | 80 cm |
The chest figures are flat half measures taken with the garment laid down, doubling to 124, 128, 132 and 136 cm around, or 48.8, 50.4, 52.0 and 53.5 in. Against the body chart that is about eighteen inches of ease at every size, three inches less than the Cilla shirt from the same maker but still far outside anything called classic. What separates the two is length rather than width: this one runs 77 to 80 cm from the highest point of the shoulder, which is 30.3 to 31.5 in, against 65 to 68 cm on the Cilla, so the Edgar falls past the hip and the Cilla stops at it. Sleeve and length are full measurements rather than half ones.

Occasions and Styling
Suits work, everyday wear, weekends, travel and layering over knitwear or a tee. Eighteen inches of ease and a hip covering length make it wearable open as a light third layer as well as buttoned as a shirt, which is the commercial argument for the menswear block, though it does mean the size a customer buys is chosen on how they intend to wear it rather than on their measurements.
Production and Quality Control
The reference names its cloth as poplin, publishes a three column table for all four sizes, converts from the Danish scale, and states the cotton as organic and GOTS certified. That is more disclosure than most pages here manage, and the numbers agree with the prose. Three things follow: what comparing two shirts from one maker reveals, why length rather than width is the real difference, and what the two photographs and the model note leave open.
Two shirts, one maker, one table, two garments, and that is the first thing. This is the fourth time this series has had a page from this particular shop with the same three columns and the same 34 to 40 scale, and having more than one at once is worth more than any single one was. Both grade sleeve at 1.75 cm and length at 1 cm per size, and both grade chest at 2 cm of flat width, so the grading rule is shared, which is what you would expect from one pattern room. What differs is the starting point. Ease here is eighteen inches against the Cilla's twenty one, and that is not a rounding difference, it is a decision about who the garment is for. It is also a useful corrective to a habit this series has had to keep checking: when every page in a run says oversized, the word stops carrying information, and only the arithmetic tells you which of them mean it. There is a second point in the comparison that is easy to miss. Both pages advise sizing down for a closer fit, and both look identical when you read only the words. Set against the numbers, neither can deliver a regular shirt by that route, and the Edgar makes the reason plainer, because at 30 inches of body length a size 36 already covers the hip on most people, so going down buys a shorter shirt as well as a marginally narrower one. Suggesting it without saying what it changes is the gap, not the fit.
Length doing the work instead of width, and that is the second thing. The instinct when reading a table like this is to go straight to the chest, because that is where fit arguments usually live. Here the chest is almost beside the point. At eighteen inches of ease nobody is buying this for where the side seams sit, and the number that actually describes the garment is total length, 77 through 80 cm, or very nearly 31 inches at the top size. That places the hem below the seat on most wearers, which is what turns a shirt into a shirt dress over leggings or a light coat over knitwear, and it is why the menswear framing in the copy is doing real work rather than decoration. It also sets a hard production constraint worth flagging early. A length of that kind consumes cloth at the cutting table in a way a 68 cm body does not, and on a striped cloth it multiplies the matching problem, because a stripe running 80 cm down the body crosses the placket, the pocket and the yoke more times than a short body would. Anyone costing this should know that before quoting rather than after. There is a quiet inconsistency too: the page says regular collar and chest pocket, which read classic, while the measurements describe something that is not, and nothing reconciles the two.
Two photographs, no model height, and the things that follow from both, and that is the third thing. The Cilla page beside this one gives a model height of 179 cm and the size worn; this page gives the size worn and no height, from the same retailer, in the same week, on the same scale. That inconsistency is small on its own and larger as a pattern, because it means the single most useful piece of information for judging a hip length garment is present on one page and absent on the one where it matters more. Two photographs cannot show a chest pocket, a wide pleat at the back yoke, buttoned cuffs and a collar all at once, and in fact show neither the pleat nor the cuff in any usable detail, so four of the six bullet points on the page describe features that cannot be seen. On cloth, the word poplin is a real gain over most of this series, since it commits to a construction and not just a fibre, but no weight follows it, and for a garment that is supposed to hang straight and long, weight decides whether it does or whether it flares at the hip. No stripe repeat is stated either. Every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
Optional upgrades include stating the cloth weight in grams per square metre now that poplin has been named, since weight decides whether an 80 cm body hangs straight or flares, publishing the stripe repeat with a decision on matching at the placket, pocket and yoke, adding a model height and body measurements, which this same reference supplies on the page beside it, photographing the back yoke pleat and the buttoned cuff, since two images cannot cover them, quoting the oversized block and a regular block side by side rather than asking customers to size down across eleven inches of ease, offering a shorter body length option at 70 cm for anyone who wants the ease without the coverage, substituting a box pleat for the wide single pleat if more movement across the back is wanted, interlining weight and point size options on the collar, size set, colour development, private label, hangtag and care labelling.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
