That is three facts. A customer deciding whether to buy needs to know how long it is, whether it will fit her, how it fastens, whether it is lined, whether it is see through, and how to look after it. That rule applies with most force on white, because a pale cloth transmits more light than a dark one, so a white garment that would be acceptable in black becomes transparent in white.
