We would decide deliberately where the fullness sits and what it is meant to be compared against, rather than adding gathering where it is convenient.

The chest, the length and the maintenance are the second thing, and they are three separate findings from three separate customers. On the chest: one gave her measurements as 88-64-95 cm and said size S just fits, and that if her chest were any bigger it would not fit at all, and another said it fits very snugly on top and returned it. Two independent customers identifying the same point is a pattern, and the reason is the cloth: 98% cotton with 2% elastane is essentially a non-stretch fabric, so when the chest is tight it is tight, and there is no give to rescue it. On the length, the split is real and worth designing for: one customer is five foot two and paid seventy dollars to shorten it, another is also five foot two and said she likes it full length. Two customers, same height, opposite conclusions, which is the clearest possible argument for offering two lengths rather than picking a side. On maintenance, one customer used the phrase high maintenance herself and listed three specific things: dry clean only, every stain shows including deodorant, and it attracts hair and fur like nothing else. Those are colour and weave consequences rather than faults in the making, and on a pale yellow in a tight smooth cloth they are real. We would not hide them.

The fabric itself and the pockets are the third. Heavyweight poplin is a good choice for a dress with this shape, because a heavy poplin holds flare and, at this weight, does not need a lining to be opaque, which is presumably why the listing says unlined. Two things follow. Cotton creases, and a heavyweight cotton creases visibly, so we would say so rather than have a customer discover it. And this is 98% organic cotton, which is worth handling carefully on your side: organic cotton costs more and the claim requires certification, so if you want the word organic on your hangtag you need the paperwork behind it, and that is a sourcing decision to make early rather than a label to add later. On the pockets: side seam pockets are genuinely appreciated, but a pocket opening on a fit and flare sits at the hip and will gape, and gaping pockets add width at exactly the place the review above says there is too much.
