The reviewer wrote that it runs large, that she is usually a small and there was tons of room, and that she did not like the slit because it made it difficult to walk. Read that last part again: a slit is normally the thing that lets you walk in a long dress, and in almost every garment we have covered the complaint has been the opposite, that the hem is too narrow and cannot be walked in. But she is right, and the reason is in the first half of her sentence. On a dress with tons of room, there is surplus cloth, and surplus cloth at a slit does not hang neatly, it folds and it catches. The slit becomes the thing that trips her instead of the thing that frees her. That is a useful lesson and it is not an obvious one: a slit is a solution only when the fit is right. That instruction is worth keeping and worth emphasising on your page, because a washable occasion dress at this price is genuinely unusual and customers care more than brands think they do. On the lining: an ivory dress that is not lined will show everything, and this one is fully lined, which solves it outright. It also stops the crepe clinging and gives the skirt something to hang against. The one thing to specify is where the lining stops, because this dress has an open back, and a lining that runs the full length of the back will close the opening. That is the kind of detail that gets left to a factory and then cannot be fixed.
