The shirred back is the first, and we would keep it, because it is the right answer to a real problem. Cotton voile with no stretch fibre cannot be made into a close fitting bodice on its own: either it fits one body exactly or it gapes. Shirring rows of elastic thread into the back panel solves that, because the panel contracts to the wearer and expands as needed, and it does the same job as elastane in the cloth would without changing what the cloth is. It also means the garment fits a wider range of bodies than its label suggests, which is worth saying on your page because it reduces returns. The two things that go wrong with it are worth stating: the elastic loses its tension over time and with washing, and if the shirring is sewn with a needle that is too heavy it will break the threads as it stretches. We specify the elastic, we test how much the panel gives, and we test it again after washing.
The boning is the second. Boning holds the bustier shape, and it is what stops a strapless or bustier bodice from collapsing into a tube. But boning moves: it shifts out of its channel, it bends if it is sat on, and cheap boning bends permanently. It also pushes through the cloth at the ends if the channels are not finished properly, which is the single most common complaint about a boned bodice. We specify the boning, its width and how many pieces, we finish the ends so they cannot push through, and we check that the boning sits where the body needs it rather than where it is easiest to sew.
The cloth, the print and the care are the third. Cotton voile is a lovely summer cloth and it is semi sheer by nature, which is why this garment is only partially lined, but partially lined means some panels are sheer and some are not, and the listing does not say which. We would specify that in your tech pack rather than leave it open, and test opacity on the finished garment. On the print, a floral on a boned, shirred bodice will distort where the shirring gathers it, so the scale of the flower matters: a large motif will be broken up by the gathering and a small one will survive it. Being straight about one more thing: hand wash cold is stated, and hand washing is exactly how shirring and boning last longest, so this instruction is right and we would keep it, even though it is less convenient than machine washing.
