A blazer is cut with a front opening because it is worn over something, and the moment it is worn as a dress that opening has to close and stay closed, which means enough overlap across the front and enough coverage when the wearer sits or bends. This one is described as asymmetric, which makes that harder rather than easier, because an asymmetric front has less overlap on one side than the other. We would test it seated and moving, not only standing, and we would add a hidden closure rather than relying on the inner button alone.

The hardware and the tailoring are the second. A gold buckle belt is the part the buyer looks at and the part that fails first: plating wears, castings break at the prong, and a buckle that has gone dull is the whole garment gone dull. We source hardware with a plating specification and test it for wear and for how it behaves in dry cleaning, because metal on a dry clean only garment goes through the solvent every time.
