The reference publishes one row, size Aus 6 / US 2 at bust 24 in, waist 22 in, hips 24 in and length 31 in, and on a knit with elastane those are flat measurements rather than body measurements. The length, 31 in, is the usable figure. Our grade below is a proposal, and with cut-outs at fixed points on the body the sizing is more constrained than usual, because an opening has to land in the right place, so we would develop the placement by size rather than simply grade it up.

Production and Quality Control

There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a knit mini with cut-outs and embroidery together has three things that decide whether it works.

The cut-outs are the first. A cut-out in a knit is harder than a cut-out in a woven, because a knit will fray and roll at an opening unless the edge is stabilised and finished properly, and 5% elastane is not enough to hold an edge on its own. The openings also have to be placed so they sit correctly on the body at every size, not just on the sample size, which is the most common fault in this kind of garment. We stabilise and finish every opening, reinforce the stress points where the opening is narrowest, approve placement by size rather than by grade, and test the garment after the care cycle rather than only off the machine.

Embroidery on a stretch knit is the second. Embroidery needs a stable base, and a knit with elastane is the opposite of stable, so without the right backing the embroidery will pucker, distort the cloth around it, and eventually break away as the fabric moves. That is a slow failure that shows up after wearing rather than at inspection. We specify the backing and the stitch density, develop the embroidery on the actual cloth rather than on a swatch, and test it after washing and after wear.

The viscose knit and the lining are the third. Viscose is weak when wet and it shrinks, and with only 5% elastane there is very little to pull it back into shape, so we test shrinkage and recovery on the actual cloth and compensate the pattern rather than hoping. The full lining is doing the structural work behind the openings, so it has to be matched to the shell in behaviour and finished so it does not show at the edges, and it is also what stops the cut-outs from gaping. We check the hem hanging rather than on a table, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
