A 31 in bust on a 182 cm model is tight enough that the most likely reading is a close-fitting bodice measured flat, so it is a useful indication of shape and not a sizing figure. There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a strapless dress in two different fabrics has three things that decide whether it works.

The strapless top edge is the first. Nothing holds the dress up except the fit at the top, so that edge has to be correct in circumference and angle and it has to grip, and a bodice that gaps by even a little has nothing to fall back on. We fit the top edge on real bodies rather than on a form, consider boning or a silicone grip as a construction decision rather than an afterthought, and test it under movement rather than standing. The good news here is the flared skirt: weight below a strapless bodice helps it stay up rather than pulling it down, provided the waist is doing its job.

Two fabrics in one garment is the second, and it is the most likely thing to go wrong. Crepe and poplin behave differently in washing, in pressing and in wear, and if they are not matched before production the dress will twist, the seam between them will pucker, and the hem will go uneven after cleaning. That is a common fault in mixed-fabric dresses and it only appears after the first clean. We test shrinkage on both cloths before bulk cutting, match their behaviour, specify the seam between them rather than leaving it to the line, and check the garment after the care cycle rather than only on the finished sample.

The lining and the making are the third. It is fully lined, which is what lets a strapless dress keep its shape and be worn without a second thought, but the lining has to behave like the shell or the same twisting happens one layer in. We match them, check the lining does not peek at the hem or roll at the top edge, and attach it so it takes some of the strain at the bodice rather than hanging separately. The hidden zip has to run through two cloths of different weights without puckering or catching, and we test that specifically.
