The reference publishes one row, size S at bust 32 in, waist 32 in, hips 40 in and length 44.5 in, and it is one of the more usable rows in this batch. Bust and waist the same at 32 in with hips at 40 in tells you the shape: straight through the body with a fuller skirt, which is what a tie at the back then shapes. It is still one row on a 178 cm model, so it says nothing about grading, and the length will sit differently on most customers. Our grade below is a proposal, and with a back tie there is some fitting tolerance built in, which is worth using rather than relying on a rigid size set.

Production and Quality Control

There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a fine cotton voile slip with lace and a tie has three things that decide whether it works.

Voile is the first. It is fine, open and light, which is the whole appeal and also the whole risk: it snags, its seams can slip under strain, and it is semi-transparent by nature, so a voile dress in a dark colour over skin is not the same proposition as a voile dress in white over a lining. We test snag resistance and seam slippage, finish the seams properly since there is no lining to hide them, and check opacity in the colourway you run rather than assuming, because that decision belongs at the start rather than after the first return.

The organic claim is the second, and it is the one we would insist on putting right. Organic cotton is a certification with a paper trail, and if you want it on the label the cloth has to come with transaction certificates that match the yardage, not just a mill's word for it. We would ask for GOTS or OCS documentation, and if you are selling at a price where organic is the reason to buy, we would treat that documentation as part of the product rather than as paperwork.

The tie and the lace are the third. A tie at the back has to hold once knotted and has to be anchored, or it will work loose through the day, and the ends need finishing so they do not fray. Lace trim has to be joined rather than topstitched, with the edges finished so they do not curl, and placed consistently across sizes rather than wherever it lands. The side slits have to be cut and finished so they do not run or gape wider in wear, and we check them after washing rather than only on the finished sample. Cotton shrinkage is tested and controlled before bulk cutting with the pattern compensated, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
