The reference publishes one row, size S at bust 30 in, waist 38 in, hips 42 in and length 52 in, and we would not build your chart from it. A 30 in bust with a 38 in waist is not a body measurement, and on a relaxed chiffon maxi these read as garment measurements of a loose shape rather than sizing. The length, 52 in on a 182 cm model, is the usable figure. Our grade below is a proposal, and the right way to develop a loose chiffon maxi is to set the ease deliberately with you rather than inherit somebody else's, and to remember that the model is 182 cm, so this length will be closer to a true maxi on most customers than it looks in the photograph.

Occasions and Styling

Suits resort, holidays, weddings as a guest and summer events. Chiffon needs very little, so a flat sandal by day and a heel at night changes the register, and the movement is the point.

Production and Quality Control

There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a chiffon maxi that is only partly lined has three decisions that decide whether it works.

Sheerness is the first, and the maker states it openly. Semi sheer with partial lining is a deliberate look, but on a white maxi it is a look with consequences: white chiffon over skin in daylight is more transparent than a swatch on a table suggests, and the customer discovers that in a photograph rather than in a mirror. We check the actual level of transparency in the colourway you run and in daylight rather than assuming, and if you want it wearable without that consideration, the answer is a denser weave, a slip or a full lining. That decision changes the cloth and the price, so it belongs at the start rather than the end.

Chiffon is the second. It is fine, it snags, its seams can slip under strain, and it is slippery to cut and to sew, which is why a chiffon hem is either level or obviously not. We test snag resistance and seam slippage, finish the seams properly so nothing raw shows through a sheer cloth, and check the hem hanging rather than on a table. With 42% silk in the blend, we also test how the cloth behaves in water and in pressing, because silk and polyamide respond differently and the blend will not behave like a pure polyester chiffon.

The partial lining is the third. A partial lining on a sheer dress has to stop somewhere, and that stopping point is exactly where the dress will fail if it is not planned: the edge of the lining will show as a line across the skirt, or it will roll, or it will pull the shell. We set the lining length as a design decision rather than a manufacturing one, match its shrink behaviour to the shell, and check it after the care cycle rather than only on the finished sample.
