The reference publishes one row, size Aus 6 / US 2 at bust 26 in, waist 26 in, hips 34 in and length 60 in, and we would not build your chart from it. Bust and waist the same at 26 in is not a body shape, and the most likely reading is flat garment measurements on a knit, which makes them unreadable as published. The length, 60 in, is the usable figure and it is a true gown length on a 182 cm model, so it will need a heel or a hem on most customers. Our grade below is a proposal, and the practical point is that with a plunge neckline and a pull-on fit, the bust is the size decision and the knot has to be placed so it still sits at the waist on a range of torso lengths.

There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a jersey gown with a knot and a plunge has three things that decide whether it is beautiful or merely expensive.

The knot is the first, and it is the single most important detail on the dress. A knot has to be set by how much fabric goes into it and where it is anchored, not by how it looks in a photograph, because an unanchored knot rearranges itself every time the garment is put on and never looks the same twice, and it will not survive cleaning or packing. We develop the fabric amount by sample, anchor it at defined points, and test it after the care cycle and after packing. The knot also pulls the surrounding cloth, so we check it does not distort the waistline or create bulk where it is joined.

The plunge neckline is the second. A deep V that gapes, stands away from the body, or rolls at the edge is the classic failure here, and it is visible to everyone. Jersey has enough give to sit closer than a woven would, which is why it works, but the edge still has to be cut and stayed so it lies flat, and the depth has to be consistent rather than varying with the size. We fit the neckline on the body and on more than one bust size, test it leaning and moving rather than standing, and check it after washing rather than only on the finished sample.

Viscose with no elastane is the third. It drapes beautifully but it is weak when wet, it can shrink, and it grows out of shape if it is not handled properly, and on a floor-length dress that growth is very visible at the hem. With a full lining there is a second risk on top: shell and lining shrinking differently will twist the garment, and a viscose shell over a polyester lining is one of the most common causes of that. We relax and pre-shrink before cutting, control shrinkage by test, match the behaviour of the two layers, and check the garment after the care cycle rather than only off the line. Hems are checked hanging rather than on a table, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
