Two things follow from that, and both are worth dealing with before sampling rather than after. First, a size range of two is not a range, and on a denim dress, which customers expect to buy in their usual size, we would plan a proper range from the start. Second, denim behaves differently from most dress fabrics: it shrinks on the first wash, it softens, and it changes shade, so the size chart and the fit have to be set after washing rather than off the cutting table.

Then the making. Denim is heavy at the seams and unforgiving of bulk, so seam construction and topstitching have to be specified rather than left to the line: we plan the seam types, manage bulk at the joins, and specify the topstitch thread and tension so it does not pucker or break. Colour fastness and crocking are tested, especially on indigo, because dye that rubs onto a bag or a chair is a complaint that arrives fast. Hardware, if used, is tested for rust and for whether it damages the cloth in the wash, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
