The reference publishes no measurements, only the size range from XS to L and the model's size, so the chart below is entirely our proposal and every row needs confirming on a sample. Two things are worth deciding before sampling. First, a bodycon maxi with 12% elastane is specified by stretch range as much as by circumference, so we would record the range in your tech pack rather than only the finished measurements. Second, the lining changes the fit: a lined dress fits closer than an unlined one of the same measurements, so the shell and the lining have to be fitted together rather than separately.

Production and Quality Control

There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a lined bodycon maxi has three places where it either works or does not.

The lining is the first. On a close-fitting jersey dress the lining is doing the same job as the shell: it is what stops the dress showing every line underneath and what makes it fall smoothly instead of grabbing. But a lining that is the wrong weight, shorter than the shell, or attached badly will roll, ride up, or show as a shadow at the hem, and a lining that does not stretch with the shell will fight it. We specify the lining as part of the garment rather than as a necessity, match its stretch and shrink behaviour to the shell, and check it after the care cycle rather than only on the finished sample.

Twelve percent elastane is the second. It is what makes the dress smooth and what makes it comfortable, and it is also the most likely thing to fail: cheap elastane loses its return, and when it does the dress bags at the seat and the hem and stops holding its shape. We specify the yarn and the elastane brand rather than accepting a mill substitute, and we test recovery after washing and after wear, not only on the hanger. We also measure the stretch range, because on a cloth like this the range is the real size tolerance.

Then the fit and finish. A column shows any twist in the side seam immediately, and that usually points to the knit not being relaxed before cutting rather than to bad sewing, so we relax and control shrinkage before bulk cutting. The hidden back zip has to run through jersey and lining without a wave or a pucker, which is a skill rather than a formality. Because the dress is close fitting, opacity is checked in the colourway you run and in daylight, seams are specified so they stretch with the cloth, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
