The reference publishes one row, size 36 at bust 30 in, waist 24 in and hips 28 in. As a body measurement that is a slim frame, though a hip narrower than the bust is unusual, and there is only one row anyway, so we would not build your chart from it. The length, 34 in on a 183 cm model, is the usable figure and it is short, which is worth deciding per market. Our grade below is a proposal to be confirmed on a sample. Two practical notes: the adjustable straps are the fit tolerance here, so they have to work rather than just be present, and the layers and knots change how the dress sits on the body, so it should be fitted in its finished state rather than as a flat shell.

Production and Quality Control

There are no customer reviews on this listing, so there is no score to quote and no complaint pattern to read. We plan from construction, and a layered dress in two cotton cloths has three things that decide whether it looks designed.

The layering and knots are the first. Layers are easy to sketch and hard to build: each one adds bulk at the point where it is joined, and a knot that is not anchored will work loose and sit differently every time the dress is worn. We plan where each layer joins so the bulk is distributed rather than stacked, anchor the knots so they stay where they are placed, and check the layers after washing rather than only on the finished sample, because layers that shift in the wash are layers that will never look the same again.

The two cloths are the second. Poplin and twill are both cotton, which is the sensible choice, since two different fibres would shrink at different rates and twist the dress after washing. But they are not the same weight or the same hand, so the joins between them still have to be engineered and the pattern pieces matched for how each behaves, rather than sewn together and pressed flat. We test the joined garment after the care cycle and check the seams lie flat rather than puckering.

Then the fit and finish. Adjustable straps are the only tolerance the dress has, so the sliders have to hold once set or the dress slides down and the customer reads it as bad sizing, and the attachment points need reinforcing because they carry the dress. The hidden side zip has to run through layers without catching or creating a bump. Because it is fully lined, we check the lining does not peek at the hem or roll, and that its shrink behaviour matches the shell. Cotton shrinkage is tested and controlled before bulk cutting with the pattern compensated, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
