The reference publishes one row, size M at bust 34 in, waist 19 in, hips 20 in and length 35 in, and we would not build your chart from it. A waist and hip smaller than the bust by that margin is not a body measurement and makes little sense as a garment measurement either, so the only usable figure is the length. It is also worth noting that the model wears a size M, which on a maker that says the dress runs large tells you more about the ease than the numbers do. Our grade below is a proposal, and the practical way to develop an oversized dress is to set the ease as a number with you rather than inherit somebody else's idea of oversized.

The bodysuit base is the first and the most important. It is what turns an oversized draped dress from a shapeless piece of jersey into something that hangs properly, and it is also the part that decides whether anyone can wear the dress comfortably for a full day. We specify the base as a garment in its own right, test dressing and wearing rather than only standing, check the snap closure holds and does not pop, and check the base does not print through the shell or cut in at the leg. Snaps on a stretch base need reinforcing or they pull out, and a snap that pops is a complaint the customer will not hesitate to describe.

The fixed drape is the second. Fixed is the right call, because a soft drape on an oversized dress rearranges itself every time it is put on and never looks the same twice. But fixed means it has to be anchored properly: anchored badly, it pulls the shell out of shape, and it will not survive washing or packing. We set the fabric amount by sample rather than by sketch, anchor the drape at defined points, and test it after laundering and after packing, because a drape that arrives flattened is worse than no drape.

Then the cloth and the sizing. Polyester elastane jersey is stable if it is handled properly, so shrinkage is controlled before bulk cutting and recovery is tested after washing rather than only on the hanger. The maker says the dress runs large, and on an oversized style that is a decision rather than a fault, so we would set the ease with you as a number rather than inherit it, and we would put a clear fit note on your product page instead of leaving the customer to work it out from a size chart. Because it is white and draped, opacity is checked in daylight, and every bulk shipment gets a measurement report against your approved chart.
