Wholesale Gold Backless Maxi Dress
When a request arrives with “wholesale gold backless maxi dress” in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.
In production this is a long backless dress, cut in gold. A long backless dress runs to the ankle or the floor, which makes sweep and hem finish the design. A floor-length hem needs a horsehair or a weighted tape, or it will collapse in wear. A sheath backless dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
Gold is a family of tones, not one colour. Fix the tone on a physical bead card and keep one reference per order.
What Has To Be Specified
- Length: Long, with the finished length and the hem allowance stated in centimetres, measured on the wearer, not on the form.
- Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: Gold, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.
- Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
- Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
- Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
- Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
A sheath backless dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
The first sample passes on the form and fails on a body: the waist sits high, the armhole cuts, or the sweep is 4 cm short. Fit on a real model before approving anything.
Beading is quoted per panel and bought per gram. A 15% allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
Options We Can Build To
- Packing: flat-fold with tissue, hanger-ready, or individual sealed bag for glitter and bead styles.
- Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
- Beading: hand-applied, machine-guided, or replaced with embroidery at a lower density and a lower price.
- Beading: hand-applied, machine-guided, or replaced with embroidery at a lower density and a lower price.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
