Criss Cross Back White Backless Mini Dress

Source:News / Time:2026-11-04

When a request arrives with “criss cross back white backless mini dress” in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.

In production this is a short backless dress, cut in white. A short backless dress finishes above the knee and lives or dies on the hem: a 2 cm difference changes the proportion at the leg completely, and that hem is photographed more than any other part of the garment. A sheath backless dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.

White backless dresses sit close to bridal, so specify the exact white (optical, ivory, cream) and warn the buyer about optical brighteners.

What Has To Be Specified

  • Length: Short, with the finished length and the hem allowance stated in centimetres, measured on the wearer, not on the form.
  • Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
  • Colour: White, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.
  • Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
  • Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
  • Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
  • Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
  • Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production

A sheath backless dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.

The hem is where a cheap build shows. A 3 cm hem with a clean catch-stitch reads expensive; a 1 cm overlocked hem reads fast fashion.

Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.

Options We Can Build To

  • Shell swap: the same block in a lighter or heavier version of the base cloth, priced separately.
  • Beading: hand-applied, machine-guided, or replaced with embroidery at a lower density and a lower price.
  • Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
  • Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, corset lace-up or button placket, each with its own sample requirement.

Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
