Long Velvet Turkish Arabic Evening Dress Style
When a request arrives with موديل فستان سهرة طويلة قطيفة تركية in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.
In production this is a long velvet evening dress in the turkish direction. A long evening dress runs to the ankle or the floor, which makes sweep and hem finish the design. A floor-length hem needs a horsehair or a weighted tape, or it will collapse in wear. Velvet has a nap. Mark every panel and never mix directions, or the dress photographs two-tone - and it can only be pressed on a velvet board. A ball gown carries a boned bodice and a skirt built from layers: tulle or organza over a crinoline, with the volume set by the number of layers rather than by the fabric weight.
Turkish evening wear is a fitted bodice with a very full skirt, usually in tulle or taffeta, and it is the reference most often sent to us with a photo of a bridal salon window.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: Velvet, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
- Length: Long, with the finished length and the hem allowance stated in centimetres, measured on the wearer, not on the form.
- Block: Ball Gown bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: name the exact tone and send a swatch. In this category a photo is not a colour reference.
- Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
- Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
- Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
- Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Velvet has a nap. Mark every panel and never mix directions, or the dress photographs two-tone - and it can only be pressed on a velvet board.
A ball gown carries a boned bodice and a skirt built from layers: tulle or organza over a crinoline, with the volume set by the number of layers rather than by the fabric weight.
Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
Pressing decides the finish. Satin and taffeta take a needle mark in a second, and no amount of QC takes it out afterwards.
Beading is quoted per panel and bought per gram. A 15% allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Options We Can Build To
- Beading: hand-applied, machine-guided, or replaced with embroidery at a lower density and a lower price.
- Lining: unlined bodice with a lined skirt, half-lined, or fully lined - the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
- Packing: flat-fold with tissue, hanger-ready, or individual sealed bag for glitter and bead styles.
- Packing: flat-fold with tissue, hanger-ready, or individual sealed bag for glitter and bead styles.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
