Velvet Arabic Evening Dresses in Gold - Sample Order
When a request arrives with فساتين سهرة مخمل ذهبي in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.
In production these are velvet evening dresses, cut in gold. Velvet has a nap. Mark every panel and never mix directions, or the dress photographs two-tone - and it can only be pressed on a velvet board. A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
Gold is a family of tones, not one colour. Fix the tone on a physical bead card and keep one reference per order.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: Velvet, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
- Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: Gold, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.
- Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
- Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
- Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
- Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Velvet has a nap. Mark every panel and never mix directions, or the dress photographs two-tone - and it can only be pressed on a velvet board.
A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
Grading is where the money disappears: every detail placed by eye on the sample has to be measured on the pattern, or the size run drifts.
The first sample passes on the form and fails on a body: the waist sits high, the armhole cuts, or the sweep is 4 cm short. Fit on a real model before approving anything.
Pressing decides the finish. Satin and taffeta take a needle mark in a second, and no amount of QC takes it out afterwards.
Options We Can Build To
- Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
- Lining: unlined bodice with a lined skirt, half-lined, or fully lined - the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
- Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, corset lace-up or button placket, each with its own sample requirement.
- Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
