Short Satin Arabic Evening Dress in Plum or Berry

When a request arrives with فستان سهرة قصيرة توتي in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.

In production this is a short satin evening dress, cut in plum. A short evening dress finishes above the knee and lives or dies on the hem: a 2 cm difference changes the proportion at the leg completely, and that hem is photographed more than any other part of the garment. Satin shows every needle mark and every bubble at the seam. Use a fine needle, a soft press cloth, and hang the dress for 24 hours before the final measurement. A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.

Plum and deep purple flatter a wide age range, which is why they repeat in evening ranges; keep the beading tone slightly warmer than the shell.

What Has To Be Specified

• Shell: Satin, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
• Length: Short, with the finished length and the hem allowance stated in centimetres, measured on the wearer, not on the form.
• Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
• Colour: Plum, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.
• Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
• Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
• Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
• Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
• Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
