In production these are evening dresses, cut in mauve. A mermaid silhouette is fitted from the bust to just below the knee and flares from there. The knee break is the whole fitting: 3 cm either way and the dress either walks or it does not.
Mauve drifts grey under cool light. Approve the dip in daylight and again under warm light.
What Has To Be Specified
- Block: Mermaid bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: Mauve, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production

Pressing decides the finish. Satin and taffeta take a needle mark in a second, and no amount of QC takes it out afterwards.
Beading is quoted per panel and bought per gram. A 15% allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
The hem is where a cheap build shows. A 3 cm hem with a clean catch-stitch reads expensive; a 1 cm overlocked hem reads fast fashion.
