In production these are evening dresses, cut in pink. An A-line evening dress clears the hip and falls from the bust or the waist. It is the most forgiving block in the range and the easiest to grade from a 2XL up to a 5XL.

Pink sells in the teen and young-ladies ranges but dates the fastest; keep it to a small colourway and re-shoot each season.

What Has To Be Specified

• Block: A-Line bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
• Colour: Pink, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.
• Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
• Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
• Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
• Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
• Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.
