When a request arrives with فستان سهرة شيفون ماروني in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.

In production this is a chiffon evening dress, cut in wine. Chiffon needs a French seam or an overlocked edge, plus a fusible strip on every seam that takes strain. It also needs a lining that is cut separately. A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.

Wine and maroon are the safest deep tones for a beaded bodice, because a bead that is a shade off does not read as a mistake.

What Has To Be Specified

• Shell: Chiffon, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
• Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
• Colour: Wine, with a lab dip approved against a physical swatch under both D65 and warm indoor light.
• Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
• Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
• Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
• Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
• Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.
