Catalogue of Embroidered Saudi Arabic Evening Dresses for Engagement
When a request arrives with كتالوج فساتين سهرة للملكة مطرز سعودية in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.
In production these are embroidered evening dresses in the saudi direction. Embroidery is a placement decision as much as a decoration one: the motif has to centre on the bodice, which means it is graded per size rather than repeated. A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
Saudi styling pushes toward heavier embellishment and a longer line, often with a closed neckline and a sleeve that reaches the wrist.
An engagement (katb ktab) dress sits between evening wear and bridal: covered enough for a family hall, decorated enough for the photographs.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: Embroidered, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
- Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: name the exact tone and send a swatch. In this category a photo is not a colour reference.
- Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
- Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
- Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
- Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Embroidery is a placement decision as much as a decoration one: the motif has to centre on the bodice, which means it is graded per size rather than repeated.
A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
The first sample passes on the form and fails on a body: the waist sits high, the armhole cuts, or the sweep is 4 cm short. Fit on a real model before approving anything.
Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
Beading is quoted per panel and bought per gram. A 15% allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Options We Can Build To
- Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, corset lace-up or button placket, each with its own sample requirement.
- Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
- Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
- Packing: flat-fold with tissue, hanger-ready, or individual sealed bag for glitter and bead styles.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
