Short Feather Trim Arabic Evening Dresses

Source:News / Time:2026-10-31

The Arabic search phrase فساتين سهرة ريش قصيرة is the kind of query that lands in a factory inbox with a screenshot and a price, and nothing else. Unpacked, it names a length, a cloth and a finish - and those three decisions fix most of the cost before a single sample is cut.

In production these are short feather trim evening dresses. A short evening dress finishes above the knee and lives or dies on the hem: a 2 cm difference changes the proportion at the leg completely, and that hem is photographed more than any other part of the garment. Feather trim is hand-applied and directional, and it does not survive a standard polybag. Agree the packing method with the trim, not after it. A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.

What Has To Be Specified

  • Shell: Feather Trim, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
  • Length: Short, with the finished length and the hem allowance stated in centimetres, measured on the wearer, not on the form.
  • Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
  • Colour: name the exact tone and send a swatch. In this category a photo is not a colour reference.
  • Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
  • Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
  • Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
  • Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
  • Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production

Feather trim is hand-applied and directional, and it does not survive a standard polybag. Agree the packing method with the trim, not after it.

Grading is where the money disappears: every detail placed by eye on the sample has to be measured on the pattern, or the size run drifts.

Beading is quoted per panel and bought per gram. A 15% allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.

Options We Can Build To

  • Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
  • Lining: unlined bodice with a lined skirt, half-lined, or fully lined - the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
  • Shell swap: the same block in a lighter or heavier version of the base cloth, priced separately.
  • Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, corset lace-up or button placket, each with its own sample requirement.

Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
