Feather Trim Arabic Evening Dresses
The Arabic search phrase فساتين سهرة ريش بليسيه is the kind of query that lands in a factory inbox with a screenshot and a price, and nothing else. Unpacked, it names a length, a cloth and a finish - and those three decisions fix most of the cost before a single sample is cut.
In production these are feather trim pleated evening dresses. Feather trim is hand-applied and directional, and it does not survive a standard polybag. Agree the packing method with the trim, not after it. A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
Knife pleats have to be set with heat and stitched down before packing, or they arrive as soft folds and the skirt loses its sweep.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: Feather Trim, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
- Block: Sheath bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Detail: Pleated. Knife pleats have to be set with heat and stitched down before packing, or they arrive as soft folds and the skirt loses its sweep.
- Colour: name the exact tone and send a swatch. In this category a photo is not a colour reference.
- Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
- Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
- Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
- Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Feather trim is hand-applied and directional, and it does not survive a standard polybag. Agree the packing method with the trim, not after it.
A sheath evening dress is straight and close, with a walking vent at the back and a lining that has to be cut a few millimetres shorter than the shell so it does not hang below the hem.
Knife pleats have to be set with heat and stitched down before packing, or they arrive as soft folds and the skirt loses its sweep.
The first sample passes on the form and fails on a body: the waist sits high, the armhole cuts, or the sweep is 4 cm short. Fit on a real model before approving anything.
The hem is where a cheap build shows. A 3 cm hem with a clean catch-stitch reads expensive; a 1 cm overlocked hem reads fast fashion.
Beading is quoted per panel and bought per gram. A 15% allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Options We Can Build To
- Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, corset lace-up or button placket, each with its own sample requirement.
- Detail alternatives on the Pleated: scaled up, reduced to a plain panel, or moved to the back for a cleaner front.
- Lining: unlined bodice with a lined skirt, half-lined, or fully lined - the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
- Packing: flat-fold with tissue, hanger-ready, or individual sealed bag for glitter and bead styles.
- Shell swap: the same block in a lighter or heavier version of the base cloth, priced separately.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting, beading and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
