Silk Mermaid French-Style Arabic Evening Dress Style
When a request arrives with موديل فستان سهرة فرنسية ميكادو سمكة in it, the useful first question is not the price. It is which of these attributes the buyer actually intends to sell on.
In production this is a silk evening dress in the french-style direction. Silk gives the drape and the sheen, and it brings the QC problems with it: it water-spots, it slips under the needle, and it needs a cool press. A mermaid silhouette is fitted from the bust to just below the knee and flares from there. The knee break is the whole fitting: 3 cm either way and the dress either walks or it does not.
The French reading of an evening dress is quiet: soft structure, a defined waist, and decoration that follows the seam rather than sitting on top of it.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: Silk, hand and weight approved on a physical swatch - imported evening cloth rarely matches a screen.
- Block: Mermaid bodice, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: name the exact tone and send a swatch. In this category a photo is not a colour reference.
- Bodice structure: say whether the bodice is boned, fused, or soft. This single line decides the fit, the price and the packing.
- Lining: state bodice lining, skirt lining and whether the skirt is bagged out at the hem.
- Closure: name the type and position - invisible zip, lace-up back, or covered button placket.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the fit model. A Gulf 2XL is not a European 2XL.
- Care: dry-clean-only is normal here; if the trim cannot survive solvent, say so before the label is printed.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production

Pressing decides the finish. Satin and taffeta take a needle mark in a second, and no amount of QC takes it out afterwards.
The first sample passes on the form and fails on a body: the waist sits high, the armhole cuts, or the sweep is 4 cm short. Fit on a real model before approving anything.
