Sheer Tulle Print African Clothing Jumpsuit
When a buyer asks us to develop “sheer tulle print african clothing jumpsuit”, the first conversation is never about price. It is about what the garment has to survive: a wedding season, a church calendar, a two-week festival run, or a shoot with eight hours of wear in it.
In practical terms this is a jumpsuit in tulle built for women. Tulle is a net, not a cloth. Layers, not gsm, control the volume, and every tulle edge that touches skin needs a soft binding or it will scratch. A jumpsuit is a fit problem before it is a style problem: torso length, crotch depth and rise all have to be right at the same time, and each of them grades differently.
The size run is the first commercial decision: a four-size run sells a test order, a ten-size run sells a container.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: tulle, weight and hand approved on a physical swatch, not on a screen.
- Block: jumpsuit, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: name the colourway and give a reference swatch. “African print” is not a colour; a lab dip checked under D65 and TL84 is.
- Lining: state unlined, half-lined or fully lined. This single line changes the hand, the packing and the cost.
- Closure: name the type and the position. “Back zip” is not a specification; “invisible zip, CB, 55 cm, self-fabric guard” is.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the target fit model. A four-size test and a ten-size container run are two different projects.
- Trim and hardware: bead, cord, eyelet or feather, with a colour reference and a pull-strength requirement for anything on a children's style.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Tulle is a net, not a cloth. Layers, not gsm, control the volume, and every tulle edge that touches skin needs a soft binding or it will scratch.
A jumpsuit is a fit problem before it is a style problem: torso length, crotch depth and rise all have to be right at the same time, and each of them grades differently.
Print placement is the quiet cost driver. Every seam that crosses the motif has to be planned in the marker, and that planning has to be repeated for each size.
Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
Trims are quoted per piece and bought per roll. A 15% trim allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Options We Can Build To
- Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, button placket or lace-up, each with its own sample requirement.
- Trim: embroidered, beaded or plain, with the density quoted per panel rather than per garment.
- Lining: unlined, half-lined or fully lined — the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
- Trim: embroidered, beaded or plain, with the density quoted per panel rather than per garment.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
