Women's Spring Summer 2026 Kente Cloth African Jumpsuit
When a buyer asks us to develop “women's spring summer 2026 kente cloth african jumpsuit”, the first conversation is never about price. It is about what the garment has to survive: a wedding season, a church calendar, a two-week festival run, or a shoot with eight hours of wear in it.
In practical terms this is a jumpsuit in kente cloth built for women, scheduled against spring/summer 2026. Kente is a hand-woven strip cloth, so width is fixed by the loom and the strips have to be joined. Weight and colour intensity vary from bolt to bolt, which makes a single-lot buy essential. A jumpsuit is a fit problem before it is a style problem: torso length, crotch depth and rise all have to be right at the same time, and each of them grades differently.
The size run is the first commercial decision: a four-size run sells a test order, a ten-size run sells a container. Spring/summer 2026 development closes earlier than most buyers expect: fabric booking in the autumn, samples signed off by early winter, bulk shipping from late winter.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: kente cloth, weight and hand approved on a physical swatch, not on a screen.
- Block: jumpsuit, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: name the colourway and give a reference swatch. “African print” is not a colour; a lab dip checked under D65 and TL84 is.
- Lining: state unlined, half-lined or fully lined. This single line changes the hand, the packing and the cost.
- Closure: name the type and the position. “Back zip” is not a specification; “invisible zip, CB, 55 cm, self-fabric guard” is.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the target fit model. A four-size test and a ten-size container run are two different projects.
- Trim and hardware: bead, cord, eyelet or feather, with a colour reference and a pull-strength requirement for anything on a children's style.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Kente is a hand-woven strip cloth, so width is fixed by the loom and the strips have to be joined. Weight and colour intensity vary from bolt to bolt, which makes a single-lot buy essential.
A jumpsuit is a fit problem before it is a style problem: torso length, crotch depth and rise all have to be right at the same time, and each of them grades differently.
Trims are quoted per piece and bought per roll. A 15% trim allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Grading is where the money disappears. Every detail that is placed by eye on the sample has to be measured on the pattern, or the size run drifts.
Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
Options We Can Build To
- Trim: embroidered, beaded or plain, with the density quoted per panel rather than per garment.
- Packing: flat-fold with tissue, hanger-ready, or individual polybag with a branded insert.
- Closure: invisible zip, exposed zip, button placket or lace-up, each with its own sample requirement.
- Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
