Kids and Teens African Two-Piece Set with High-Slit

Source:News / Time:2026-10-27

When a buyer asks us to develop “kids and teens african two piece set with high slit”, the first conversation is never about price. It is about what the garment has to survive: a wedding season, a church calendar, a two-week festival run, or a shoot with eight hours of wear in it.

In practical terms this is a two-piece set in ankara wax print built for kids. Ankara is a wax-printed cotton, normally 100-120 gsm. The hand is slightly crisp, so it holds a peplum, a pleat or a stand collar without much interlining, and it presses flat after a hot iron. A two-piece set is bought as one look and worn as two garments, so both pieces have to stand alone. Matching the print across the join is the first decision, not the last.

Kids' sizing has to pass a safety review as well as a fit review, which means trims, cords and small parts all need a documented pull test.

What Has To Be Specified

  • Shell: ankara wax print, weight and hand approved on a physical swatch, not on a screen.
  • Block: two-piece set, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
  • Detail: a high front slit. A high front slit needs a facing or a bound edge, and it needs the slit stop reinforced — that is where every one of these returns begins.
  • Colour: name the colourway and give a reference swatch. “African print” is not a colour; a lab dip checked under D65 and TL84 is.
  • Lining: state unlined, half-lined or fully lined. This single line changes the hand, the packing and the cost.
  • Closure: name the type and the position. “Back zip” is not a specification; “invisible zip, CB, 55 cm, self-fabric guard” is.
  • Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the target fit model. A four-size test and a ten-size container run are two different projects.
  • Trim and hardware: bead, cord, eyelet or feather, with a colour reference and a pull-strength requirement for anything on a children's style.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production

Ankara is a wax-printed cotton, normally 100-120 gsm. The hand is slightly crisp, so it holds a peplum, a pleat or a stand collar without much interlining, and it presses flat after a hot iron.

A high front slit needs a facing or a bound edge, and it needs the slit stop reinforced — that is where every one of these returns begins.

A two-piece set is bought as one look and worn as two garments, so both pieces have to stand alone. Matching the print across the join is the first decision, not the last.

The first sample usually passes on the mannequin and fails on a body: the waist sits high, the armhole cuts, or the sweep is 4 cm short. Fit on a real model before you approve anything.

Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.

Grading is where the money disappears. Every detail that is placed by eye on the sample has to be measured on the pattern, or the size run drifts.

Options We Can Build To

  • Sizing: a four-size test run, a standard eight-size run, or a graded run to your own spec sheet.
  • Detail variations on the a high front slit: scaled up, scaled down, or replaced with a plain panel at a lower price point.
  • Lining: unlined, half-lined or fully lined — the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
  • Lining: unlined, half-lined or fully lined — the last one changes the hand and the cost together.
  • Shell swap: the same block in a lighter or heavier version of the base cloth, priced separately.

Pre-production sample approval, in-line inspection during cutting and sewing, and a final AQL inspection before packing, with measurement reports and photos shared before shipment.
