Women's Fall Winter 2026 Kente Cloth African Suit Blazer
When a buyer asks us to develop “women's fall winter 2026 kente cloth african suit blazer”, the first conversation is never about price. It is about what the garment has to survive: a wedding season, a church calendar, a two-week festival run, or a shoot with eight hours of wear in it.
In practical terms this is a blazer in kente cloth built for women, scheduled against fall/winter 2026. Kente is a hand-woven strip cloth, so width is fixed by the loom and the strips have to be joined. Weight and colour intensity vary from bolt to bolt, which makes a single-lot buy essential. A structured blazer is a tailoring build — canvas or fusible, a roll line, a shoulder pad and a sleeve that hangs clean. In African print it is also a pattern-matching exercise.
The size run is the first commercial decision: a four-size run sells a test order, a ten-size run sells a container. Fall/winter 2026 pieces carry a heavier shell and a lining, which adds a lining supplier to the critical path alongside the shell fabric.
What Has To Be Specified
- Shell: kente cloth, weight and hand approved on a physical swatch, not on a screen.
- Block: blazer, fitted on a real model at the middle size before grading.
- Colour: name the colourway and give a reference swatch. “African print” is not a colour; a lab dip checked under D65 and TL84 is.
- Lining: state unlined, half-lined or fully lined. This single line changes the hand, the packing and the cost.
- Closure: name the type and the position. “Back zip” is not a specification; “invisible zip, CB, 55 cm, self-fabric guard” is.
- Sizing: give the size run, the grade rule and the target fit model. A four-size test and a ten-size container run are two different projects.
- Trim and hardware: bead, cord, eyelet or feather, with a colour reference and a pull-strength requirement for anything on a children's style.

Where This Style Goes Wrong In Production
Kente is a hand-woven strip cloth, so width is fixed by the loom and the strips have to be joined. Weight and colour intensity vary from bolt to bolt, which makes a single-lot buy essential.
A structured blazer is a tailoring build — canvas or fusible, a roll line, a shoulder pad and a sleeve that hangs clean. In African print it is also a pattern-matching exercise.
Grading is where the money disappears. Every detail that is placed by eye on the sample has to be measured on the pattern, or the size run drifts.
Trims are quoted per piece and bought per roll. A 15% trim allowance sounds generous until the third size run lands.
Two rolls of the same colour name will not match. Buy one lot, keep a roll reference with the order, and cut the whole run from it.
